Business Systems Analyst

The Team Scotiabank’s Term Lending System (TLS) team is responsible for building, maintaining and servicing the mortgage system of the Bank.

We work collaboratively with our business partners Real Estate Secured Lending (RESL) and Insurance Canada (IC) to understand and achieve a holistic view of all customers’ various mortgage and creditor insurance needs and requirements.

The role: To support the above vision, we are seeking an energetic Business Analysis Specialist who will play an important part in the team and help achieve the desired goals by providing leadership in analysis, design, development, implementation and support.

Is this role right for you?

Works with key stakeholders within all business functions to align technology solutions with business strategies.

This includes conducting research and analysis, accurately and clearly defining user requirements and processes, and liaising with the users Participate in the systems implementation process by reviewing acceptance criteria, QA test strategy and providing post-implementation support.

Prepares cost-benefit analyses to aid in decisions on system implementation and able to create business solutions/system design that increase competitive advantage Able to support day to day production operations such as Service Now tickets, production issue resolution and communication.

Demonstrates an informed knowledge of business functions to resolve problems and capitalize on improvement opportunities Providing backup support to the project manager and assisting with the development of detailed project plans and monitoring of progress against planned objectives Well versed with Agile/Waterfall project methodology .

Possesses strong analytical and critical thinking skills to handle complex projects/situations, identifying gaps and recommend solutions.

Ability to resolve technical problems and understand complex system details that lead to increased operational efficiency with high quality technical solutions Basic technical knowledge to understand system flows and dependencies across various applications Demonstrates leadership skills with an ability to build strategic relationships with the business partners and other stakeholders Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

Displays strong work ethic with sense of urgency.

Ability to remain composed and focused under tight timelines and high-pressure environment Flexible team player who is eager and quick to learn new skills and tools Mortgage and Creditor Insurance knowledge is an asset What’s in it for you?
