Job Description
– Chief Financial Officer, Reinsurance (16000305D20221003) Chief Financial Officer, Reinsurance ( Job Number: 16000305D20221003 ) The CFO, Reinsurance acts as both a Strategic Business Partner and Chief Financial officer on all finance matters to the CEO, Reinsurance.

This role is an active participant on both the functional (CFO) and business unit (Reinsurance) leadership teams.

DISCOVER your opportunity What will your essential responsibilities include?

Partner with the CEO, Reinsurance to understand their businesses from an integrated financial perspective, provide insight into potential improvements, and give your perspective on the feasibility of various strategic initiatives.

Responsible for forecasting the Business unit’s financial standing based on financial and operational data and reports and advising the CEO and respective boards on strategic direction.

Responsible for all Finance and Actuarial matters within the Reinsurance Unit, while representing Finance and actuarial on the Reinsurance Leadership Team.

Reinsurance representative on the Divisional CFO leadership team, representing and accountable for all Assumed Reinsurance related finance and actuarial matters at the division.

Help to look at the business through an analytical lens and drive the increased analytical culture and mindset within the business and finance.

Challenge and coach the business on the financial impact of their decisions.

Actively seek to align business partnering activities with controllership, to enable accuracy, consistency and efficiency in our planning and reporting processes, and “one set of numbers” in relation to the Reinsurance business.

Engage in the ground up preparation of the annual and multi-year plan.

Bring together the aggregated view and performance metrics for the Reinsurance leadership team.

Actively monitor expense drivers and work with the business to ensure most efficient cost structure.

Champion the CFO function in the Business unit, educating the business in finance matters and the AXA XL finance processes that they provide inputs to.

Oversee strategic projects and analysis to deep dive into specific business topics using a finance lens To encourage and foster strong working relationships with FinOps, ERM, Capital Management, Treasury, Compliance, Investment Accounting, Internal Audit and Tax, and feed into their processes where appropriate.

Oversee the corporate close processes, including balance sheet control, liquidity and capital requirements for all Reinsurance legal entities and ensure close partnership with the Divisional Chief Reporting & Capital officer Work with external audit partners to plan and resource external audit activities appropriately.

Provide information in a timely fashion.

To actively participate in Board of Director roles for appropriate entities.

Review and at times, be involved in the production of internal Board and Management MI related to the legal entities alongside all external reporting requirements.

Manage the financial risk within the legal entity risk framework (including Market, Credit and Liquidity) relating to the Reinsurance legal entities, supporting on stress testing, where appropriate.

We’re looking for someone who has these abilities and skills: Industry Knowledge: Solid understanding of reinsurance, with a deep understanding on the performance drivers of an reinsurance technical P&L and the way the drivers interact with each other.
