Senior Analyst, General Accounting

Reporting to the Manager, Payroll Accounting Processing, the Senior Analyst will be responsible for reviewing and Workday and SAP reports to identify potential issues and areas of improvement as well as monitoring data feed and accuracy between the payroll and financial systems.

You will be responsible for projects within the team and process improvements to be implemented with the help of the Tech Hub or Payroll.

You will be responsible for preparing different reports, for analysis or to be sent to the business for decision making.

You will be responsible for providing guidance to the members of the team concerning payroll and financial systems such as SAP and Workday, as well as providing support in general matters.

What you’ll do: Creation, review, and analysis of financial reports.

Active involvement with projects & in-depth issue analysis Report writing and data understanding in various financial and payroll systems Monitoring the flow of data from the payroll to the financial system and ensuring completeness and accuracy of the information Taking a lead role in ensuring that department objectives and initiatives are completed Reviewing processes and providing recommendations Implementation of new processes Providing support and recommendations regarding financial and payroll systems and general accounting matters Continuously monitor, recommend and implement process improvement initiatives to increases effectiveness and productivity of department Analyze, identify, and recommend process improvement and system modifications to increase productivity and efficiency in the department.

Liaise with internal and external business units.

Various other duties as required What you’ll need: 3-5 years of experience, related to accounting, or a combination of education and experience Currently enrolled in an accounting designation program would be considered an asset Strong analytical skills are essential to this role Strong oral and written communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.

Intermediate to advanced experience with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and other Office Suite applications.

Experience with Workday and SAP would be considered an asset.

Strong organizational and time management skills with keen attention to detail and commitment to deadlines and targets Ability to prioritize and multi task daily activities in a fast-paced environment.

Ability to implement required process improvement or transitioning new work Professional attitude (business attire, communication with colleagues, positive attitude) professional demeanor Demonstrated ability to work independently or part of a team Be flexible and able to adapt to change in a positive manner.

Ability to derive and adapt processes to generate needed outcomes.
