Reporting to the Manager, Corporate Financial, Planning and Analysis (FP&A), the Senior Financial Analyst will be a key contributor of a dynamic team that consolidates CTC’s strategic outlook, annual budget, quarterly forecast, and month end reporting for P&L The Senior Financial Analyst will also provide actionable, analytical support and business insight to the Finance leadership team by helping key stakeholders understand the financial impacts, risks, and benefits of potential financial decisions/arrangements.

What you’ll do Support the preparation of the annual budget, monthly and quarterly forecasts, and build appropriate models to assist with analysis and reporting Play a lead role in educating and collaborating with FP&A (business units and other corporate groups such as Treasury, Strategy, Corporate Accounting) to: Accurately capture all inputs and consolidate the annual budget, strategic plan, quarterly forecasts, and month end reporting Develop thorough knowledge of business partners’ needs to provide customized and relevant input in the building of financial models Document major processes so business partners and new team members can be educated on financial models and processes, drive further efficiencies and improve performance Be a subject matter expert in special projects (related to various corporate development and/or cross BU initiatives) Prepare analysis and reporting related to key personnel expenses (Profit Sharing, CT Savings, and fringe) for the purpose of results tracking and approval by the CTC Board of Directors Monitor results versus budget/forecast and provide thorough analysis and investigation into the variances while identifying risks and opportunities Develop, maintain, and evolve new and existing financial models Ensure that meaningful analysis and reports are prepared to support various levels for reviews and presentations for various Officers and Board of Director’s meetings Work closely with the Financial Systems team on system changes required to accommodate Corporate Planning Group requirements Play a lead role in training and coaching of Financial Analyst Associate Ad hoc analysis as required What you bring University degree in Business, Commerce, Accounting, or Finance Minimum of 3-5 years business experience in an analytical field with a solid understanding of the financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow statements) Professional accounting designation (CPA
– CA, CMA, CGA) is considered an asset Results oriented and organized, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities, maintaining attention to detail while retaining focus on the “big picture” Ability to collaborate in a team environment while being a self-starter in driving process change within the organization Ability to communicate with people at all levels of the organization in a professional and competent manner Strong business acumen, analytical skills, and problem-solving abilities Superior interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal) Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (specifically with Excel and PowerPoint) Working knowledge of Hyperion and PeopleSoft products is considered an asset Willing to work extended hours when the business requires (such as quarter end, year end, and as needed) About Canadian Tire Corporation As one of the most trusted brands in Canada, our employees take pride in the work we do across the country.
