Enterprise Data Governance Advisor

Hamilton Health Sciences

This is a Contract position in Hamilton, ON posted July 27, 2022.

The Advisor will support data management practices across HHS to improve data quality as an enabler to business operations, systems integration, planning and implementation and informed decision-making. This role includes supporting quality initiatives to facilitate access to timely data in Clinical, Administrative and Financial areas within the Hospital. The role will assist in establishing and analyzing processes, standards and techniques while ensuring practicality and optimization of technical resources and data assets across HHS.

1. Baccalaureate degree in Computer Science, Health Informatics, Health Care Professional
2. Five years of information management experience in a health care environment
3. Demonstrated planning and analytical skills to participate in the redesign of data collection processes
4. Knowledge of regulatory reporting requirements in relationship to data collection
5. Knowledge of Health Information Systems (HIS) and work flows
6. Knowledge of Scheduling and Registration principles and processes within healthcare
7. Demonstrates an understanding of the data interrelationships and dependencies among the various health information systems and departments i.e.. decision support systems, electronic health records, order entry
8. Understands key information technology concepts and components (i.e. networks, storage devices, operating systems, applications, interfaces, firewalls, etc.) and their interrelationships
9. Expertise in system analysis, process and business analysis and improvement
10. Demonstrated project management principles, experience and the ability to implement a corporate methodology as well as coach team members on these skills
11. Excellent knowledge of Microsoft products, including Outlook, Word, Power Point, Excel, Visio and Access applications
12. Demonstrated interpersonal and leadership skills for interaction with staff at all levels of the organization
13. Ability to prioritize workload, work efficiently under tight deadlines and high pressure
14. Excellent communication skills with the ability to efficiently and effectively convey priorities and expectations
