Unit Summary 

Customer Support Services provides a variety of diverse services to clients in both the clinical and non-clinical areas of Hamilton Health Sciences as well external clients. The program was designed to serve an integrator function among support services. We are committed to providing the highest quality service, within existing resources, to our clients for the benefit of our patients and community. Services provided include Portering, Linen, Clinical and Core Housekeeping, Room Booking, Learning Centre, Service Response Centre, Waste

Position Summary 

Under general supervision, the porter's responsibilities include: transporting patients to and from various wards and departments; assisting with patient lifts and transfers; assisting patients in and out of wheelchairs; delivery of food wagons and late trays to clinical units; delivery of specimens, equipment, documents and supplies; movement of heavy equipment and supplies; operation of power equipment; responding to all Codes and assisting as required; and other duties as assigned. Functions according to the job description for this position.
