Clinical Director Mi-Care

This is a Contract position in Hamilton, ON posted August 1, 2022.

McMaster Children's Hospital is the regional academic centre for pediatric acute care, rehabilitation, developmental and mental health services. The Mi-Care Program is compromised of MCCSS and MOH funded services for individuals up to the age of 18, whose needs cannot be met in a single service stream and requires an integrated approach across Mental, Behavioural and Developmental Health. The Mi-Care Program supports a culture of innovation, family-centered service and evidenced based interventions.

Reporting to the MCH Child and Youth Ambulatory Services Director, the Clinical Director, in conjunction with the Medical Director(s) assumes general responsibility for the quality of clinical services int he Mi-Care Program. As a collaborative member of the Mi-Care Leadership team, the Clinical Director will be expected to contribute to leadership in Mi-Care services at McMaster Children's Hospital. The Clinical Director will support the development, advancement and integration of education and research within the clinical program. In addition, the Clinical Director is responsible for working with the Medical Directors and Clinical Manager to ensure collaboration and seamless transitions with the program and services.

1. Registered or eligible for registration with the College of Psychologists of Ontario
2. Ph.D. degree in Psychology
3. 3 to 5 years experience in Mental, Behavioural and Developmental Health
4. 3 to 5 years experience relevant experience as a Child Clinical Psychologist
5. Relevant work experience in a leadership role
6. Skills and experience in clinical teaching, education, and research consistent with the requirements for faculty appointment to the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioural Neurosciences, McMaster University
7. Experience working as part of a multi-disciplinary team
8. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
9. Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle
10. Willingness to participate in a criminal reference screening process
11. Fluency in French will be considered an asset
12. Must be able to obtain a valid Vulnerable Sector Screen (VSS)
