This is a Contract position in Hamilton, ON posted September 24, 2022.

Union: UNIFOR Clerical

Location: KW Campus 

Work Type: Part Time 

Shift: 7.5 Hour Shifts, Monday-Friday, Days


Responsible for reception of patients undergoing various procedures. Handles telephone, paper bookings, transcribing of physician orders, basic data entry, retrieval and ordering of supplies and general inquiries. Other functions include organizing patient charts, maintaining monthly statistics and ensuring smooth and efficient unit function. Contributes to ensuring a safe environment for patients, staff and visitors. Performs other clerical duties as assigned. Contributes to ensuring there is a safe environment for patients, staff and visitors. 


  • Post – secondary medical secretarial or health office administration diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience required
  • 1 to 2 years previous clerical experience in a similar environment is required
  • Problem solving capabilities
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to organize workloads in co-operation with peers
  • Able to perform multiple tasks simultaneously in a high paced environment.
  • Knowledge of hospital computer software preferred – Microsoft Office, electronic mail and Cerner
  • Excellent typing and data entry skills
