Early Childhood Resource Specialist

As a member of an interdisciplinary team, and in collaboration with various internal, external and community based partners, the Early Childhood Resource Specialist serves families and preschool aged children with a diagnosis of Autism. This includes the delivery of Ontario Autism Program (OAP) services, including the OAP Entry to School service which is a six-month curriculum-based program designed to prepare children to begin school with a focus on key readiness skills (communication, play, social interaction, functional routines, behavioural management, pre-academics, learning and attention). Intervention may be conducted in clinic, in home, in the community or virtually. Mentoring is available in all areas of practice.
