This is a Contract position in Hamilton, ON posted September 13, 2023.
The Medical Laboratory Technologist (MLT) is responsible for performing Hematology and Transfusion Medicine testing and procedures in accordance with the HRLMP policies and procedures. This testing includes but is not exclusive to:
– Hematology morphology
– Special stains
– Loading specimens on the transfusion medicine analyzer with remote assistance and verification
– Emergency blood product preparation and issue
– Utilizing EPIC and Wellsky Transfusion Medicine HIS systems
– Communication with other healthcare professionals and support personnel related to Hematology and Transfusion Medicine practices
– Other duties including temperature monitoring, QC, as assigned.
