Hamilton Health Sciences

This is a Contract position in Hamilton, ON posted May 12, 2022.

The Integrated Stroke Program is comprised of 26 beds on 7 South at the General, 28 beds at the Regional Rehabilitation Centre and specialized longer term rehabilitation beds at St. Peter's Hospital. This position will support care within the Integrated Stroke program at the General Site, as well as Regional Rehab Centre, and as needed may also support care within the Department of Neurosciences and Medicine. Staff will have experience with skills in the treatment of stroke patients in both the acute and rehabilitation phases of the care continuum. The unique model provides opportunities for enhanced continuity of patient care through the clustering of stroke patients into specialized units with a dynamic and strong interdisciplinary team.

1. Current registration with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario
2. Recent experience (within the last 2 years) in the treatment of patients with neurological impairments as well as care of the elderly patient
3. Current knowledge in physiotherapy modalities for neurological population ie. Stroke
4. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team
5. Ability to work with and supervise Physiotherapy interns
6. Demonstrated leadership, critical thinking, communication, organizational and problem-solving skills
7. Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing
