JOB POSTING 872115 Job Title: Psychologist Site: Toronto General Hospital Department: Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS) Clinic Reports to: Medical Director/ Clinic Manager Hours: 18.75 hours per week, 2.5 days per week Status: Temporary Part time for 9 months with potential for extension JOB SUMMARY As an integral member of the clinic, the responsibilities of the Psychologist I include: conducting independent screens and psychological assessments of patients referred for evaluation providing a diagnosis and communicating results and recommendations to patients, referral sources and clinical team developing and communicating a treatment plan to the client and multidisciplinary team, as appropriate providing treatment and consultations to clients, as appropriate participating in interdisciplinary case conferences, as appropriate supervising psychology assistants, as appropriate participating actively in program planning, development, evaluation, and continuous quality improvement activities participating in approved and relevant academic/research/training activities performing cross-functional duties, as assigned or requested performing other duties consistent with the job classification, as required The Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS)Clinic is a new and unique service, operated collaboratively between The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids) and University Health Network (UHN).

Toronto General Hospital, member of UHN supports patients’ transition to adult care.

Through its interprofessional team, the EDS Clinic will: provide primary care providers with EDS guidelines for diagnosis and management of the different forms of EDS; support primary care through e-consult by centralizing care coordination in pediatric and adult settings; provide further assistance and referrals to relevant specialists once an EDS diagnosis is confirmed and care plan is developed; and foster development of an interprofessional care team with interest and expertize in EDS.

REQUIREMENTS At minimum, completion of a Ph.D degree in Clinical Psychology or recognized equivalent Knowledge, and experience with the specific psychological clinical practice and research At minimum, 2 years practical and related experience Has worked with a variety of specific psychological tests and techniques Registered with, or eligible for registration with, the College of Psychologists of Ontario with designated practice area that corresponds to the specific clinic requirements Indication of academic potential is required as documented by publications & presentations in the area of psychological disorders and by research funding Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills Ability to perform duties in a professional and courteous manner and produce high quality work while meeting deadlines in accordance to UHN standards Exercise initiative and good judgement with ability to multi-task Compliance with confidentiality requirements Compliance with confidentiality requirements Effective organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills Knowledge of applicable legislative, UHN and/or departmental policies.
