The Social Worker may be responsible to provide in-depth psychosocial assessments, to include the identification of child, adolescent and family strengths, and assess and incorporate problem-solving abilities, dynamics, interactions, attitudes, feelings and cultural issues in relation to the child and adolescent with an eating disorder. The Social Worker may work collaboratively with the team in the initial multidisciplinary assessment to develop and implement a plan of intervention, which incorporates a range of facets including education, coping and compliance. This will be achieved through a variety of modalities including individual therapy, family therapy, group work, consultation, case management, community outreach and advocacy. The Social Worker will identify and make referrals to appropriate supports and resources as required. The Social Worker will function across inpatient, outpatient and day treatment components of the program providing individual, family and group therapy. The social worker delivers care utilizing Family Based Therapy, Dialectic Behaviour and Cognitive Behaviour Therapy frameworks.
