The Supply Chain Logistics Portfolio provides integrated procurement and supplies distribution support across the Juravinski Hospital & Cancer Centre, the Hamilton General Hospital, St. Peter's- Maplewood, McMaster and West Lincoln Memorial Hospital sites. Primary functions include procurement, contract development, management & administration, and supply chain distribution. In addition the program supports the procurement needs for all capital and major redevelopment projects and manages formal relationships with GPO's and other strategic alliances including Mohawk Supply Chain Services – a Shared Services Organization providing the hospital’s warehousing and JIT inventory system support, among other services.

1. Grade 12 or equivalent. Completion of a certified Purchasing “Principals of Buying” Certificate Program or equivalent experience and a willingness to enroll into the program within one year
2. Knowledge of the purchasing process and purchasing computer system functionality and operation
3. Demonstrated proficiency in purchasing computer system functionality and operation, preferably Meditech, as well as all MS applications
4. Keyboarding 40 wpm
5. Demonstrated proven ability to provide excellent customer service to the Hospital community and ability to sustain a high degree of supplier partner satisfaction
6. Excellent written and oral communication skills
7. Demonstrated excellence in decision-making and problem-solving skills
8. Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills
9. Demonstrated ability to set priorities, multi task and organize work accordingly
10. Demonstrated ability to be a self-starter and a demonstrated ability for working in a dynamic and demanding environment
