The Engineering Department at Hamilton Health Sciences is an integral part of the support services, providing facilities maintenance services to all buildings, wards and departments at , General, JHCC, JCC, St. Peters, McMaster Children Hospital and WLMH sites. The Engineering staff is comprised of numerous and varied trades, including Stationary Engineers in the power plant, Electricians, Plumbers, Millwrights, Carpenters, Painters, etc. all contributing to the safe and efficient operation of the facilities. The departments goals can best be summarized as SERVICE EXCELLENCE.
1.Current Province of Ontario Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Mechanic Certificate of Qualification
2. Must hold a Province of Ontario ”Ozone Depletion” certificate
3. Minimum of five years as a qualified Tradesperson
4. Demonstrated experience in the maintenance, repair and installation of all types of heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration equipment
5. Demonstrated ability to use the tools and equipment of the trade
6. Demonstrated ability to follow verbal and written instructions
7. Demonstrated ability to bend, crawl, lift heavy items, climb and work from ladders and scaffolding
8. Demonstrated ability and willingness to work in areas that are cold, hot, dusty, dirty, noisy, amongst machinery, at elevated levels and have cramped quarters
9. Must be willing to provide own hand tools of the trade
10. Gas Fitter II License preferred
11. Sheet metal experience is an asset
