Asphalt Lab Technician

We are currently looking for an Asphalt Lab Technician to join our growing team at our Concord, Ontario location.

Reporting directly to the General Manager – Asphalt Plant, the Lab Technician will be responsible for a variety of tasks relating to our asphalt products, including but not limited to: RESPONSIBILITIES Perform regular Hot-Mixed Asphalt (HMA) mixture testing, including gradation and Asphalt Cement (AC)%.

Perform regular gradation testing for stockpile aggregate materials.

Comply with all applicable acts and regulations as well as company safety policies, procedures and established safe practices.

Perform maintenance and calibration of lab testing equipment.

Prepare reports for the non-conformance and corrective actions taken during test procedures.

Maintain a clean and orderly work area and meet other housekeeping needs as required.

Provide technical services in a field, lab and occasionally office environment.

Perform asphalt compaction testing in the field for various projects in accordance with relevant standards and reporting.

Work with an provide support to other members of the field technical group in assisting with other field activities Other duties as assigned by the Plant General Manager.

Requirements: A minimum two years of asphalt mixtures testing experience in a lab environment.

A Diploma in Civil Technology or Civil Engineering or equivalent (preferred).

Experience with HMA super pave (preferred) Excellent communication skills and the ability to work in professional manner.

Punctuality and a w illingness to work with a team.
