  • Multiple PT positions available, with good potential for conversion to FT 
  • Currently hiring in Burlington, Hamilton, and Hagersville 
  • Regular opportunities to pick up extra shifts 
  • Pay range between $19-25 per hour, commensurate with experience

Currently operating dozens of LTC and retirement homes across Ontario, they’re assembling a team of dedicated healthcare staff who are committed to the wellbeing of residents and each other.  

The Position 

Dietary Aides are a critical part of daily operations in LTC, and your impacts on residents will go beyond providing safe and nutritious foods. 

Dietary aides also play a huge role in creating a positive and interactive environment in our homes—unlike other kitchens where kitchen staff are separate from diners, you’ll be able to see the positive effect your hard work has on residents every day. 

Practically speaking, you will: 

  • Assist in food preparation (including prep and portioning)  
  • Sort meals according to residents’ dietary needs  
  • Transport food to PSWs for serving  
  • Report and record resident food behaviors (food preferences, likes & dislikes, intake) 
  • Maintain a clean environment before, during and after service  
  • Ensuring optimal quality of life for each resident by providing individualized resident care 
  • Monitor and maintain equipment, reporting faulty equipment as necessary  
  • Complete documentation consistently and accurately, noting things like food, freezer, and fridge temperature, as well as availability of sanitizer 
  • Understand and follow quality indicators/metrics used by the Home and participate in the improvement of indicators in accordance with public regulations  
  • Follow all legislation and regulations around delivery of the resident’s nutritional needs 

Working with Responsive Group 

This is a part-time position with varying shifts depending on your availability, location, and needs of the various homes. You’ll start out at a competitive wage between $19-25 per hour, commensurate with your skills and experience. Our full-time food services team is unionized, and many of our experienced casual staff transition to permanent roles.

Qualifications 

  • Food handler certification 
  • Food service worker certification, OR registration with ability to finish within 2 years, OR current enrolment in a culinary program  
  • Proof of double-vaccination for Covid-19 
  • Recent TB test in the last 6 months 
  • Recent VSS screen in the past 6 months  
  • Knife skills would be an asset
