Founded in 1876, the Toronto Lawn Tennis Club is the oldest private tennis club in Canada.

Our F&B department is one of the busiest departments with the Courtside Café, Player’s Bar and Fine dining facilities where the members can order breakfast, lunch and dinner any time during the day, 7 days a week.

These employees will serve in the Courtside Cafe restaurant and Player’s Bar, a casual pub/bar ambiance.

Servers provide excellent food and beverage service to members and guests of TLTC.

JOB DESCRIPTION Providing friendly and attentive service that makes guests feel well taken care of and builds their intent to return Complete restaurant opening and closing duties including setting up necessary supplies and tools Cleaning all equipment areas, locking equipment doors, etc.

Set up, stock and maintain work areas Take orders from customers, input orders in Jonas, and obtain payment Serve food, coffee and other beverages Work in all F&B areas, including busing, cleaning and resetting tables Becoming well versed in all menu items (food and beverage) and able to effectively answer guest questions Being an integral part of a team, support your co-workers and have fun while doing so Being resourceful and able to “think on your feet” to solve problems Serve alcoholic beverages Assist with preparation and serving events/banquets Perform any other job-related duties as assigned Follow all safety and security procedures and regulations while performing daily duties Follow all policies, procedures and rules as stated in the Employee Handbook Follow departmental policies, procedures, and service standards Deal with guest requests in a courteous, prompt, and professional manner Attend scheduled staff meetings, training, and orientation sessions Work and communicate in a professional and ethical manner with colleagues assisting where necessary to develop team spirit and to achieve standards of work and guest care Maintain standards of punctuality, uniform and personal hygiene as required by Club REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS High School Diploma Smart Serve certificate required 1 to 2 years’ experience in hospitality related industry Self-starting personality with an even disposition Well-developed communication and customer service skills Ability to effectively deal with guest and employee concerns in a friendly and positive manner Ability to access and accurately input information using POS system General knowledge of food and food handling techniques Approachable, pleasant, polite, fast Able to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays Eager to be part of a team but also excel working independently Must be able to understand both oral and written English Must be legally permitted to work in Canada PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Must be able to lift a minimum of 20 pounds from floor to heights to above shoulder height.

Must be able to bend, stoop, and climb.

Must be able to stand and continuously “move” throughout the workday.
