This is a Contract position in Hamilton, ON posted October 4, 2022.

Union: UNIFOR Service

Location: KW Campus 

Work Type: Full Time 

Shift: 7.5 Hour Shifts Days – Monday to Friday



As an integral team member of the Finance Department, this person will:

  • Supervise Accounts Payable (“AP”) unionized clerical staff
  • Performs month-end procedures including journal entries and significant account reconciliations
  • Responsible for maintenance of Infor AP systems and the AP module of Cerner system including troubleshooting system errors with Information Technology Department.
  • Assist with monitoring and responding to inquiries from employees, management and vendors
  • Assist with interim and year-end external audit
  • Works collaboratively with stakeholders to improvement payment processes and work flows
  • Manage and review financial activity including cash flow and short term and long term investments or debts
  • Monitor excess cash and maximize the return on investment in accordance with the hospital’s investment policies
  • Prepare and present ad-hoc reports on financial information


  • A recognized accounting designation CPA (CA,CGA,CMA) required
  • Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
  • 2 years hospital accounting experience and experience supervising unionized staff (preferred)
  • Experience with the development of financial models, workflow and analysis for business and process efficiency improvements.
  • A high level of computer proficiency in financial systems, Microsoft Office software, business intelligence systems
  • Excellent communications skills (written, verbal & presentation)
  • Good attendance record
