Complaints Director and Compliance Officer

This is a Contract position in Hamilton, ON posted August 8, 2022.

We’re looking for a candidate to fill this position in an exciting company.

Manages the College’ s professional conduct activities in active consultation with the CEO, as required by relevant legislation Oversees the professional discipline process to ensure legislative compliance, transparency, and procedural fairness Develops and maintains subject matter expertise-level knowledge of relevant legislation Administrative maintenance of all hard copy and electronic files for concerns and/or complaints Assignment and direction of investigators and/or inspectors Drafts and proof-reads of all complaint communications, distributing to complainants, investigators, and members where necessary In consultation with the CEO and legal counsel, develops and negotiates charges and sanction proposals for members in advance of hearings Manages monitoring and the enforcement of conditions and sanctions Financial management and oversight of complaints and sanctions, including monthly summaries, payment plans, etc.

Develops and maintains College complaints processing manual Manages the compliance screening program of regulated members’ websites and social media Contributes to the ongoing development and implementation of the organization’ s strategic plan in areas involving conduct and practice Compiles statistical reporting on quarterly and annual basis 7 years of administrative program management experience required, with related regulatory or compliance experience preferred Degree or diploma from a post-secondary institution preferred Proficient working knowledge of Microsoft Office365 applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and database management Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal Critical thinking and prioritization skills Interest in continuous improvement, streamlining processes, and maximizing efficeincy Mediation skills and a calm and objective demeanor Ability to focus on details in a fast-paced environment Willingness to continually update knowledge, personal education, and development Ability to work occasional weekends and evenings
