Careers At Catholic Social Services The Director is an integral member of the service’s senior leadership team and promotes partnership approaches and implements initiatives designed to maximize resources and service impact within the community.

Key accountabilities include the direction of the assigned service functions, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and the planning and development of programs and procedures in accordance with Agency policies, procedures, and service-specific requirements to meet Accreditation standards.

Job Duties Understands, supports, promotes, and adheres to the Agency’s vision, mission, values, and organizational ethics, and treats all persons with humility, compassion, and respect Provides strategic management and oversight of the assigned service area, and any other assigned function, which includes program development, delivery, and evaluation as well as fiscal and knowledge management Maintains awareness of external and internal social service, and political and economic landscapes that may impact the Agency Partners with funding agencies to ensure ongoing funding for programs Supports the Vice President with overseeing the general management of a comprehensive group of programs, including program development, delivery, maintenance, and evaluation as well as fiscal and knowledge management Budget preparation, management, and contract oversight Oversees operational management of the service area to ensure resource allocation, including financial, property, and staffing Identifies critical issues and risks to be mitigated in order to achieve effective implementation of programs, policies, processes, and practices Ensures service area’s activities comply with organizational requirements for quality management, legal compliance, client care, and mission fidelity Develops key metrics and monitors performance for region/service area of responsibility Convenes conducts and ensures Serious Occurrences, internal investigations, and/or other administrative duties are completed and submitted in a precise and timely manner as per Agency policy and procedures.

Ensures follow-ups and corrective actions are implemented Manages and effectively resolves high-risk, complex, and multidisciplinary issues while aligning decisions with Agency’s vision, strategic plan, policies, procedures, and standards Provides timely communication and updates to Vice President, as well as to direct reports, department’s team members, and internal and external stakeholders, as appropriate, through the most appropriate and effective communication channels such as meetings, emails, phone calls, and/or text messages Education and Experience Minimum of a Degree in a human services discipline or equivalent A Master’s Degree is preferred Additional relevant certifications or designations considered an asset Minimum seven (7) years of demonstrated experience in progressively responsible leadership roles Proven track record of effectively leading performance-based and outcomes-based programs and employees Demonstrated effective leadership with proven ability to work with and influence groups and associations toward the achievement of a common goal Prior experience at a senior level in the not-for-profit, charitable, or public sectors is preferred Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered Other requirements: Satisfactory Security checks including Police Information Check (CPIC) Transportation to attend meetings and presentations in different offices and program The Agency offers a competitive salary, alternate work arrangements, a comprehensive benefits package, and a supportive work environment, with access to ongoing professional development and opportunity for advancement.
