Our client, a Cambridge College, is looking a talented communications professional to join them as Director of Communications to cover a period of adoption leave from as soon as possible for up to one year.
The tenure of this post may alter subject to the return-to-work plans of the current incumbent and is subject to one month’s notice.
This is a 0.6 job share, with the other Director of Communications as an equal Job Share Partner.

They are creating engaging alumnae publications, writing a prospectus that attracts great students, running social media and overseeing the website.
Most crucially, they are here to help people within College communicate
– with each other and the outside world.
That may mean working with students and staff to ensure that routine information and procedures are clear.
It may mean working with an academic to manage unexpected media attention or helping them prepare for a major interview about their research.
This office balances long-term project management with the unexpected requests that come in every day.
A key focus for the incoming Job Share Partner will be leading on internal communications, including the production of a weekly internal newsletter.
They will also lead on social media and digital content, and media relations, whilst the existing Job Share Partner will lead on website development, including the commissioning of a new website for 2024, research communications and alumnae communications.
Other areas of the role will be shared.
Each partner should however be comfortable with all aspects of the role to ensure support during times of annual leave or busy periods.
The Director of Communications reports directly to the Principal and has close working relationships with a wide range of people across the College, particularly the Development Office.
The Communications Office will include the Directors of Communications and an Administrative Assistant working equivalent to 1 day per week.
Additional work is done by external consultants, managed by the Directors of Communications.

The post is part-time, 22.5 hours per week, equating to 0.6 of full time equivalent (FTE) and worked on Wednesday to Friday.
There will be occasional planned evening and weekend work (e.g.
for special events), which can be divided between the Job Share Partners as appropriate.
