We’re looking for someone ambitious, with a deep knowledge of the insurance space and a passion for innovation and building creative solutions.

The Director of Product will be a member of the Product team, and an active contributor to the vision and strategic ambitions of the division.

You are accountable for developing, innovating and sustaining a competitive suite of products and services that meets the current and evolving needs of our clients.

Reporting to the Head of Product, the Director of Product has accountability to : Building out the product shelf including innovative product development Product partner relationship management, including external partnerships Revenue and cost projections across the product line At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role.

You’ll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you’ll spend 1-3 days per week on-site, while other days will be remote.

How You’ll Succeed Support the product vision and roadmap: In close partnership with the Head of Product, build a client centric, digital first product pipeline that will enhance the financial wellness of our clients.

Establish a roadmap that thoughtfully meets the needs of our clients while ensuring the evolution is in lock step with advice and platform capabilities to consistently exceed our clients’ expectations.

Build partnerships: With our clients’ needs at the heart of everything we do, actively engage and assess partnership opportunities to bring providers into our wellness ecosystem, arranging mutually beneficial terms and scalable relationships that share our passion for enhancing the wellness of our clients.

Build creative products: Using your years of experience in insurance product development, think broadly about the vast underserved market of clients who lack the protection and wellness products they need to achieve their own financial wellness.

Creatively assemble solutions that meet their needs today and that can evolve as their life changes and grows over time.

Design products with inclusivity in mind, ensuring the features and attributes are accessible and on point with our broad diversity of clients.

Be a great partner: Put the goal of financial wellness for all our clients as your top priority.

Work closely with your peers to bring our products to market with the best possible client experience and engagement.

Know the financials: Thoughtfully and accurately analyze the financial considerations of product design, campaigns, and portfolio projections.

Understand intimately the payback of initiatives, perform realistic sensitivity planning scenarios, and conduct thorough variance analyses to assess performance.

Know the market: Be actively engaged to understand global developing trends, competitor moves, and product innovations.

Regularly engage with FinTech and InsurTech firms to stay apprised of new ideas and opportunities to partner so we can ensure our clients have access to the best products and services in the market.

Who You Are You have extensive experience working in insurance, including prior roles in product development, pricing, marketing, and/or underwriting, with a deep understanding of the product development life cycle specific (life & health and/or P&C insurance experience) You’re driven by collective success.
