Reporting to the AVP, Claims National Auto Damage, Appraisal & Technical Expertise, the incumbent is accountable for managing at a senior level, the claims operation in Western Canada, Ontario, Quebec and Atlantic Canada.

What can you expect in this role?

Guide and support the management team on recruiting, selecting, performance management of claims employees, partnering closely with Human Resources.

Ensuring effective performance management practices are followed in all claims field operations.

Lead the development of the claims operating plan, including coordinating the development and implementation of all claims programs Assist with the identification of process & program enhancements Develop and manage the national claims budget.

Ensure accurate and complete budgets are prepared, including appropriate monitoring controls.

Maintain the integrity of claims internal controls from a field perspective (e.g.

authority limits, cheque signing limits, managing confidentiality, protecting assets etc.).

Measure corporate service standards and claims file standards consistently across all branch and field locations.

As a Subject Matter Expert, provide technical claims direction, and act as a senior claims liaison with internal customers and the broker force.

What do you bring to the role?

Solid leadership skills with the ability to coach, develop, mentor, motivate and retain staff Strong analytical abilities and strategic acumen.

University degree in any discipline or a two year diploma from a provincially recognized and funded community college in a relevant field of study or Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) or Fellow Chartered Insurance Professional (FCIP).Short list of qualifications Minimum of 10 years claims experience including a minimum of 5 years in a senior leadership role with performance management experience within the Property and Casualty insurance industry.

Experience in multi-line is an asset.

Strong analytical abilities and strategic acumen coupled with the ability to bring macro level thinking to support the advancement of the enterprise Excellent communication skills; both written and verbal.

Excellent attention to detail.

Highly motivated and works independently in a fast pace environment with the ability to multi-task and prioritize accountabilities to meet deadlines.

Energized by change and transformation, drives towards innovation and progress Fully bilingual in English and French is a requirement We also take potential into consideration.
