Executive Director

Reporting to the Vice President, Clinical Support Services and Community Surgery at Hamilton Health Sciences, the Executive Director Perioperative Services will have the overall accountability for the broad enterprise Perioperative Services, with the primary oversite for Surgical and Procedural Activity and patient care with the Service. The Executive Director will work collaboratively with the Director Perioperative Support Services to ensure the perioperative support services (Same Day Surgery/Post-Anesthetic Care, Preop Clinic, Booking Office, Medical Device Reprocessing) are able to support the needs of the Surgical/Procedural areas.   
In collaboration with the Chair/Chief of the Department of Surgery, Department of Pediatric Surgery, Chief of Gynecology and Head of Service for Interventional Radiology, Director of Perioperative Services, Managers, Inter-professional Chiefs and other internal and external stakeholders, the Executive Director  will ensure the provision of safe, quality, evidence based, patient care, research and education in alignment with the corporate mission, vision and values
They will lead the implementation of the strategic plan for Perioperative Services and will be responsible for the administrative and medical services offered within these departments at all of the sites of Hamilton Health Sciences.
The ideal candidate for this role will demonstrate higher level systems approach and critical thinking to oversee the operations for the entire program. They will provide strategic direction leadership to establish program specific program/service development that meet the needs of the community served, and demonstrate visionary leadership and sound decision making to ensure that the goals and objectives of the program/service’s strategic and operational plans are achieved and in alignment with the corporate strategic plan.
