Quality Manager


This is a Contract position in Hamilton, ON posted November 24, 2021.

POSITION OVERVIEW As the Quality Manager, you will lead the quality team and project related programs in your designated location.

DISTRICT OVERVIEW As an industrial contractor, Ganotec offers a full service serving the industrial sector in Canada.

Ganotec has the ability to offer all major disciplines including civil works, steel frame construction, installation of mechanical equipment, piping, and electrical, instrumentation and control work.

We execute our projects according to different business models including construction management, turnkey, target price, time and material and / or traditional mode.

We have always been fervent in “partnership” projects, in collaboration with owners, equipment suppliers and engineers, from the early stages of the project development phase to enable a more effective strategy.

PLACE This position is offered in Quebec and requires travel and relocations during your career.

RESPONSIBILITIES Manage construction quality Generate plans for project quality, inspection and test plans, procedures Work closely with construction supervisors as well as planners regarding the development and implementation of the project quality system ensuring that the scope and schedule of the project is understood Produce quality work, meeting the requirements of plans, specifications and industry standards Have in-depth knowledge of the project quality management system, work instructions and procedures Ensure that the work is performed according to the technical requirements defined by the project documentation, including drawings, specifications, procedures, inspection and test plans, and work instructions Align quality control goals with construction procedures to achieve product reliability and minimize costs Interact with supervisory staff, owners, contractors and design professionals to discuss and resolve questions regarding work procedures, complaints and construction issues Discuss with suppliers, subcontractors, and management staff regarding purchasing, procedures, product specifications, manufacturing capabilities and project status Generate quality reports and metrics Evaluate data and compose reports to validate or indicate deviations from existing standards Issue a notice of non-compliance and stop work orders, interact with customers and quality personnel to document incidents, contractual requirements and recommend corrective measures.

Read workers records, as-built drawings, quality checklists, test reports and data sheets, to verify that records meet contract specifications Define staffing needs and identify, hire and train new employees Manage staff, prepare work schedules and assign specific tasks Carry out the training of quality personnel Analyze operations to assess the performance of a company and its people and the achievement of their objectives, and to determine areas of potential cost reduction, program improvement or policy change Recommend changes to existing quality or production standards to achieve optimum quality Support other projects and regions as needed for the implementation of the companys quality program QUALIFICATIONS Hold a diploma in construction management, mechanical engineer or other equivalent diploma At least 7 years of experience as a quality manager in the oil and gas industry or related field Proven experience as a QA / QC inspector in large scope projects Several years of experience in managing a team of several quality inspectors Highly motivated, with a passion for excellence and a spirit of initiative Strong work ethic, willing to do whatever it takes to get it right on the first try Commitment to ethics and integrity Passion for safety, with the ability to help us ensure that no one is hurt Good interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills Team player with the ability to work alone while respecting schedules, goals and objectives Organized, good time management and detail oriented Ready to move to any point of a construction site in various climates and environments Supervision of inspection staff Willingness to travel and relocate as needed Bilingual French and English is a privileged asset We subscribe to the principle of equal access to employment without discrimination and we respect all human rights laws in the provinces where we operate.
