– this is the role you’ve been waiting for The Data & Analytics team at Loblaw is hiring a Senior Manager, Metadata Management with experience implementing metadata management systems and frameworks.

Reporting to the Sr.

Director
– Data Governance, the incumbent will be responsible for the establishment and management of standards and metadata enrichment activities across the Enterprise.

In this role, you will own the roadmap and lead the expansion of enterprise metadata management.

This will include working closely with data stewards, SMEs and technology teams to ensure consistency throughout our business.

The successful candidate will have experience building and leading high performance teams, as well as owning an enterprise capability at scale
– developing the metadata strategy for the enterprise and understanding how to collaborate and leverage business partners to deliver results.

What You’ll Do: Develop and execute a metadata management strategy that drives data literacy and consistent standards across the Enterprise Manage the enrichment roadmap for enterprise metadata management tools (Informatica Axon and EDC), as well as the launch of new feature releases Manage the cross-functional implementation of the plan.

Ensure plan alignment for features across the organization.

Contribute to the up-keeping of the positive, professional, high performing, and productive work environment Champion the value of Key Data Elements, Data Ownership and the importance of Metadata Management to key business stakeholders Monitor and ensure data and reporting compliance/adherence to corporate metadata standards Work with the data stewards and business SMEs to obtain support for the enrichment of metadata within Enterprise metadata tools.

Own and oversee day-to-day activities, as well as drive accountability for outputs/deliverables and status updates Support the day-to-day needs of the team and business customers including the analytic organization Demonstrate Loblaw CORE (Care / Ownership / Respect / Excellence) values to deliver results What You’ll Bring: Exceptional people management skills with ability to interact successfully and communicate effectively across all levels within the organization Experience implementing enterprise data catalogue solutions, as well as driving data literacy within large organizations Knowledge of data governance practices, business and technology issues related to management of enterprise information assets Team player with exceptional written communication and presentation skills.

6 years’ experience in a field related to information management strongly preferred especially in a highly regulated industry (e.g.

Banking, Healthcare) Post-secondary education in Information Management, Records Management, Data Management, Communications, Business or related field of study degree preferred Experience with Metadata Management Principles & Tools is required (e.g.

Informatica Axon, Enterprise Data Catalog, Collibra) Strong detail orientation is essential in this role Ability to take initiative, multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment Experience with productivity tools such Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Confluence, Jira, Slack, SharePoint is an asset Experience with data platforms is an asset (e.g.
