Job Order ID: 214 Employment Type: Permanent Web Publication Date: 3/11/2022 12:00:00 AM Job Location: Guelph, Ontario Canada Brief Description: Our client that has over 100 years of clinical practice and patient care, is looking to take on a Vice President, Information Technology & Chief Technology Officer who is responsible for leading and managing the technology applications and infrastructure team.

The VP, IT & CTO will oversee the design, development, and management of the technological applications and infrastructure and will lead the evolution of the technology environment in response to growth and changing business needs.

· Responsible for the technological innovations and the development of the IT strategic plan, in collaboration with the EVP, Operations.

· Oversee all aspects of the organization’s technology strategy, vision and solutions to ensure alignment to organization goals.

· Ensure that technology standards and best practices are met while staying informed of current and new industry trends and technologies.

· Analyze the requirements of the business operations and implement technology as needed.

· Ensure the advancement of the enterprise-wide architecture and applications and ERP systems in support of strategic roadmap.

· Develop strategies for advancing partnerships, technology platforms, and external relationships.

· Discover, recommend and implement technologies that yield a highly competitive advantage.

· Efficiently assess and evolve the current IT infrastructure with an emphasis on cyber security.

· Conduct technical reviews of products and solutions to evaluate their applicability.

· Direct the planning and implementation of major enterprise IT projects and initiatives.

· Anticipate and develop plans to address technological challenges, both current and future.

· Initiates and project manages large scale projects with long-term or substantial impact on the current or future viability of the organization
· Establish and implement major goals and strategic objectives of the IT group’s objectives, policies and plans.

Communicate technological vision, opportunities, risk and strategies to stakeholders and Executive team.

Job Function: Operations
· Responsible for the leadership and oversight of the core business applications.

· Lead the efforts of the business to effectively utilize technology to meet its needs and goals.

· Develop and maintain an enterprise wide strategy for all applications ensuring that relevant systems are optimized and achieve organizational requirements.

· Direct the information and data integrity of the organization and for all information technology functions.

· Recognize and advance strategic opportunities for the utilization of the organization’s information technology investments.

· Direct the systems analysis, programming and project management activities of system-wide ERP core applications systems, database management systems, and non-enterprise departmental application systems.

· Lead system-wide initiatives to improve efficiency and effectiveness of business processes in accordance with priorities and directions negotiated and discussed with various leadership groups.

· Engage in enterprise-wide vendor management and contract negotiation.

· Build relationships with business areas to provide organization-wide services, user support, and training to improve alignment and communication.

· Provide consultation to enterprise-wide senior management, department heads and staff on system changes and developments.

· Oversee preparation of activity and progress reports regarding all systems analysis and programming areas.

· Establish and administer operating and technology standards, development of new IT services, problem identification, and resolution processes.

· Lead direct reports in day-to-day production issues, and acts as escalation point to resolve urgent or complex issues.

Track, analyze and monitor technology performance metrics Leadership and Management
· Oversee the implementation and alignment of new software packages, updates to existing packages, and determines effects on existing hardware/software.

Plan implementation strategy and timelines, and coordinate related activities affecting the implementation.

· Provide senior-level leadership and direction to the Enterprise Applications, IT Operations, IT Security & System Administration teams, and relevant project teams.

· Hire, manage and motivate the department teams, ensuring optimal performance and engagement.

Delegate authority to Directors where appropriate for managerial functions of the department (interviewing, hiring, training employees, planning, assigning work, establishing job performance standards, managing attendance & performance, providing recognition and optimizing engagement and productivity).

· Oversee strategic and long-term functioning of department activities and bring organization-wide strategic issues, recommendations and solutions to the table.

· Actively contribute to the leadership, management growth, profitability, efficiency, innovation, client and other initiatives on a broad scale.

· Participate in the development of the annual operating and capital IT budgets for IT purchasing, staffing and technology operations.

· Model the organizational Vision, Values and Mission to customers, clients, staff and other stakeholders.

· Responsible for the protection of corporate and customer data ensuring business continuity.

· Navigate complex structures concerning risk, compliance, corporate policy and procedures, internal controls, legal and regulatory mandates, and contractual obligations.

· Lead the information security and risk functions, including cybersecurity threats and solutions.

· Solve complex cyber challenges by leveraging internal and external cyber expertise.

Stay abreast of cutting-edge issues, including challenges and threats, information security and risk mitigation.
